So... we went and did it again. Made our lives more complicated 🙄😂.
We had a phone call from our vets saying that they had a dog who was 7 who needed a new home as her owner had a brain tumour.
The vet nurse was lovely however a bit of a doughnut as she never mentioned any health issues.

So. It turns out she has 3 Mammory Tumors and has just had surgery for a pyro. she’s back in the vets on Wednesday for a lump removal and biopsy. All financial costs are being met by the previous owner.

She is also significantly overweight and her nails are horrifically long.

however the children and Steve fell madly in love with her and so now she’s ours. The children know that it is likely that it’s cancer and that she won’t have long, but they all decided they would rather any time she has left is dedicated to love and hugs and play instead of being locked in a room as her owner is too poorly to look after her.

Maslow is over the moon. They get on like a house on fire!

I’m the most reluctant of all of us. It’s only been a year since we lost Leo and frankly I’m not wanting to go through that any time soon.

So.. Wednesday is surgery and results should be a week after that.
Please cross your fingers!

You are phenomenal, especially since you lost Leo not so very long ago and all the memories/considerations that go with that. But what a joy for Bella, and Mas, and the whole family! She’s a lucky girl to have such a loving new pack. Hoping the biopsy brings positive news, keeping everything crossed x

So pleased for you but tickled pink that Bella will get another home knowing that it may not be for long. This is such a beautiful act.
Take each day as it comes and do as all dogs do, live in the moment, you make wonderful memories by doing so, without regrets.
I really do applaud your entire family for doing this.

I'm so happy you took her in and that your family loves her! I feel like crying that she will have fun, love and cuddles (and walks!) now! Fingers crossed that surgery goes well. I'm sad for her previous owner too - what a difficult position to be in  but must be such a relief to have found a good home!

Lucky Bella! Well done for taking her in, Leanne. It’s lovely that she gets on well with Maslow. I hope the surgery goes well and she has many happy years ahead. :thelambiesarecoming:

Your kids are wonderful. And so are you.

Oh, I do feel for you. I know what it’s like to bring a dog into your family thinking that it’s going to be too soon before the inevitable heartbreak. I don’t know what that feels like so soon after losing a part of your heart to another. We’ve been so lucky with Ginny; she’s gone from strength to strength, and the initial desperation when I heard the C-word and focussed on that without hearing the rest of the “she doesn’t have...” part has faded away as she’s become an ever stronger member of the family. But, whatever had happened... whatever does happen ... I have that contentment of knowing that she has had the best possible life with us. And that’s just what Bella will have with you. I understand your hesitation to give away something to her that might get broken. But that doesn’t matter; because she is already where she belongs for the rest of the time she has left. With a family who loves her, and who will give her her best life, whether that’s days, weeks, months, or years. Honestly, I think that’s the best that any of us can ask for: however hard our time on this earth, to know that someone cares at the end is the most precious gift of all.
Big hugs.

New play mate, new play mate. Plenty of trouble I am sure to be had.
Well done and enjoy the new addition.
All will be well I am sure.
