Bleeding paw

An ingrown hair? It does sound odd, but I was reading about them the other day cos Snowie has something similar (I think). Apparently they thicken and become like a painful corn.

Or a foreign body, which seems more likely!

Best of luck sorting it out. Poor Homer.

Here’s a better in focus pic. It’s about the size of a large pea. It looks really weird like some sort of alien especially when you zoom in. It’s not bothering him, he’s not even licking his paw much at all. I only noticed it as there was bloody paw prints on the kitchen floor.
Hubby is sending pics to brother in law the vet and niece who will be going into her fourth year of vet training in Bristol.

Oooh yeah, vet for sure.
It looks like it has several elements to it. Are the white bits hard, almost like enamel?
In human terms, to me it looks like a teratoma, but you don't get them on the skin normally.

The lump on his paw was removed and sent off for a biopsy. He went in to the vet for an X ray on his teeth for they took off the lump at the same time.

Hes recovered well, far too well. He is walking fine on his bandaged foot which I have to keep bandaged and clean for a few days. So I have to keep him on short walks on the lead and out of the water!

He put his bangaded foot into his pee three times this morning and then it came off as he flicked his back paws after doing a very large poop.

Ahh, the old back paw flick! Kipper is a big fan of this too.
Glad Homer is recovering well, and the tooth X-ray sounds wise while they were at it. Hope it’s all clear and Homer continues fine!
