Can’t catch a break

We found two openings at emergency hospitals and drove her out to one about 30 mins away at 8:30pm (benefits of being in a big city!). We waited there for hours...she was admitted right away for assessment but we had to wait to talk to a vet. It was like a human emergency room where cases are triaged so not really what I was expecting. We talked to a vet around midnight. They assessed her at stable and not septic and the surgeon didn’t think immediate surgery was necessary (it is also a massive cost increase for middle of the night surgery). They are repeating an ultrasound this morning and likely she will go into surgery in the 9am range. I am supposed to be getting a call between 6-8am and it’s now 7:10 and I haven’t heard. When we saw her she wagged her tail and was happy to trot to the car, which is wayyy better than her last time where she was so much more ill. I feel weird/upset having her at a strange place where we don’t know the vets and they don’t know Quinn either. Her regular vet is quite upset and said she wouldn’t be able to sleep all night.
