Emergency Vet for Reuben

I don't think there is a cat in hells chance ( sorry cats ) that our boy has been rendered anaemic by his clandestine munching of garlic, because he is bouncing off the walls today ! His eyes are bright and his gums are not pale , he has been charging around the woods , and is eating like a horse ! However , the bloods have to be done and he is booked in for 1.30 , results hopefully an hour later . Thanks again for all your lovely messages, but I would be amazed if there are any adverse effects , and just thankful that we took him so quickly whilst most of it was still in his tummy xxx

Yay ! His red blood count has gone up ! It was at the low end of normal on Saturday , and is now higher so that its above average for his age !! The rest of his blood has gone to the Vet we saw ( same group practice ) on Saturday for full screening as our Vet hasn't got a machine as fancy as theirs ! However , its good news as its the red cells that are affected if too much of the toxin is absorbed before being ejected . We still have to watch him closely for any signs of lethargy or pale gums , just for a further two days but its looking good , much relief here xx
