Emily and Carbon

, with me it was Cinzano
I thought cinzano and lemonade was such a cool drink... I used to go to a tiny local wine bar called Strawberry Fields (cos the pubs wouldn't let us in without id) and I thought a cinzano and lemonade was the height of sophistication. Again I had no idea what it was, I just ordered it because another older, cooler girl did.

To be frank, I'd happily sip one right now so my tastes have barely matured ??

No Emily, Apfelwein is NOT like cider!!! It is a speciality of the area I live in, and is much stronger than cider, and not sweet at all. It is DISGUSTING I have no idea how people can drink it.
Interesting! I didn't know that. I'd never heard "Apfelwein' actually used here, just looked it up to see what the translation was. Sounds like I don't need to try Apfelwein, then!

But just another quick post here on the cider thread. Here are my two 'study buddies' this evening on the sofa, both fascinated by the history of the reunification of Germany that I'm currently reading aloud to them. I guess at least Fine (the chi) in theory can understand the German. However, her opinion of my accent is still....:LOL:... and finally a big(n).

And there's a pillow between Fine and Carbon because Carbon kept 'accidentally' pushing Fine in the head with his back legs. He thinks she's super as a play and walkies partner but HE. DOES. NOT. WANT. TO. SHARE. HIS. SOFA!

Sorry, having a baby whinge. Poor poor poor Carbon didn't get his hour of swimming today because I had a doctor's appointment and by the time I was done it was flippin' 35 degrees and I was NOT going out in that. I did that yesterday and nearly killed poor Fine (my friend's chi)...and didn't feel so well myself. So today has been a studying (and some fun bits thanks to @Rosie) but now Carbon is trying to sit on my head, whack my laptop with his paw and pant aggressively one inch away from my ear. I can take him out in about an hour for a good long walk but can't right now. Unhappy, unhappy boy... we're both going a bit stir crazy with the heat.

Hope you all are staying cool and your pups are more chilled out that poor Señor Carboncito! o_O

Luna got a bit like that earlier when it was still too hot, so we played a new game. It's an Absolute Dogs thing, and basically just for giggles. They try to package it up as a way for training the dog to be confident being close to your body, so they get less fussed if you have to lean into them etc. Well, I dunno about that, but I thought it would be a giggle with Squidge, something we didn't have to think about too much and would be able to interact. Basically, it's a case of rolling around on the floor with a handful of treats, luring the dog to sit on your head. And other body parts. I think Carbon would be a natural :D
Lift your legs, get the dog to pass underneath, make an arch, get him to go under, sit down, get him into your lap, lay on your back, have the dog walk on you. Just generally act like idiots together.

Training? Nah. Fun? Hell yeah. I played it with all three Labs and they were laughing almost as hard as I was. Even Ginny had a go, albeit she was a tiny bit more sedate with it all ;)

Give it a go! Video it or it never happened. Mine never happened :(

OK, so it's the doggie version of Twister tomorrow to stave off hot weather boredom! :D

I think luring a dog to sit on my head and making a video are mutually exclusive? But I do think Carbon will enjoy sitting on my head. It's something he learned from his Bodeguero buddy Paul and has made into his own. I woke up this morning with him jammed against my back and using my head for his pillow. It was a bit sweaty, but considering that last week he'd been acting like an angsty teenager and sleeping on the couch so my girl cooties couldn't get on him, I was very happy for the return of cuddly Carbon.

Oh yes I know the one! The one where they say you'll find your dog doesn't like the feeling on standing on your body!!! Cassie thought it was the best thing ever, she's been wanting that since the day she came home :)
Yep! "Going Commando". I knew Squidge would be a natural, every morning she walks on top of me and flops down, laying along the length of my body so she can lick my face.
