Maxx managed to find and chew my two favourite recipe books and don't ask about the skirting boards |(

The worst thing ever was when I poured warm olive oil back into the bottle from the fry pan after making chips and it was sitting on the edge of the kitchen bench with a paper towel underneath. The paper towel was hanging over the edge of the bench and I turned away for literally two seconds only to turn and see puppy Maxx tugging at the paper towel! Luckily my scream scared him away just as the glass bottle of warm olive oil toppled over and smashed on the kitchen tiles. I don't know if anyone has ever tried to mop up hot oil from a floor but it is VERY VERY difficult! It took us over 2 hours while the man of the hour ran around the house like a blonde whirlwind with razor teeth chewing the furniture, the plants, the bed linen and everything his teeny little furry mouth could find

Oh my!!! That sounds like quite the puppy memory! That’s the icing on the cake for me, when you’re so defeated and they are just galloping around causing havoc every where they go!

Thank you! I actually bought something like this yesterday, and I did give him one today. He definitely enjoyed it and helped distract him for a bit for sure. Unfortunately I need to go buy more. Gizmo decided to break in to my treat cupboard and knocked the rest of them in to a sink of water and they sat there and got all mushy 😤

Hugo is just so cute and squishy. Hunter has now got some of his big teeth coming through so he’s chewing like mad. In fact he’s constantly been chewing like mad. I’m not a fan of raw hide chews as my friend lost a dog who got some stuck when it swallowed a large piece so it put me off. I don’t think a puppy is likely to chew off such a big piece though. I got Hunter an Anco root. I’d used them before for Scott and Scout. Hunter has always loved chewing sticks so I guessed he’d like it. He’ll chew on it for half an hour. It doesn’t splinter and softens as they chew so it’s not too hard for teeth. Little bits crumble off so it can be a bit messy but if any are swallowed they’ll just pass through. They are available on Amazon.

He’s still mad, which I think breaking in to the treat cupboard which he has never done… was his way of telling me off. He destroyed Hugo’s lamb chews but ripped open his own bag of treats and ate them all, plus two of Hugo’s vitamins 🙃

He hisses at Hugo constantly still. Hugo is gaining confidence and starting to puppy bow/bark at him and chasing him or pushing him in to a corner. So I intervene and redirect Hugo as I’m nervous of him getting swatted.

That being said Gizmo is making his presence more known. Coming for a cuddle while Hugo is sleeping for example. Or cautiously walking around.

Yes! These are great and I have one, he enjoys it in bursts but I’m sure once he’s teething he will really enjoy it. I’m seriously dreading the teething stage 😅 it feels like it lasts for ever

Well, we had our best night yet! Hugo slept from 11-4 in his crate, I heard him playing with his toy off and on until 5 when he gave a little whimper so out we went for a quick pee and poop. Tried to see if he would settle again but he said ‘no hecking way’ which I figured but had hope lol. So we played for an hour then he was sleepy so back in the crate at 6. I heard him stir at 745 but he played and ate his kibble. 810 I decided it was time to wake up and let him out while he just sat and watched me.

So I think tonight I’m going to try and sleep in my own bed, we shall see how it goes. I wish I had room in my bedroom for his crate☹

Sometimes I feel we are and other times I feel he would rather do anything but listen to me haha. Selective puppy ears I suppose? I hope.. 🤣 but it’s still very early days of course!

But yes, I do feel we are bonding nicely 🥰 He’s given me back a spark I’ve been missing for a long time and I love him so much already :heart:
