Got Reuben booked in

I know that this is a contentious subject , but I have thought long and hard about this and have booked Reuben in to be castrated on 28th April .
He has changed over the past few months , I`ve noticed it greatly and so has his beloved Anna , he is becoming a pest around other dogs , mainly girls but boys at times , he simply is obsessed .
It isnt a lack of social contact , he is just a late developer and cant seem to handle the surge of hormones , but at least he has reached a good age, bone growth wise as he is now two and a half .
I feel awful , shocking but I would rather he wasnt tormented xx

Bless him, and you xx

Echo was the same - hyper sexual. In his case it was from the moment puberty arrived. Having his purses emptied was a huge weight off his mind. His castration was three months later than GD’s usual time - and they were a really hard three months for us both.

Don't feel awful Kate. They are all different. Zaba is still entire at nearly eight years old and can walk past a bitch in season without even a sniff, while Tatze is fascinated! We have to deal with the dog we’ve got.

Many hugs

You do what's right for your dogs Kate. I'd like to keep Bear entire, but his dog walker said yesterday he's started pestering some dogs so much on their group walks that they are having to choose who he walks with at the moment, there's one boy lab he just won't leave alone at all. It's far too early for us to decide anything yet, but it will certainly be a consideration this winter if things don't change.

You’re doing what’s best for him - we have to make choices for our dogs for their well-being and it’s different for everyone and that’s most important.
