Thank you for your thoughts and kind words . We dropped him off an hour ago as requested , he had a little walk first to empty out , the hardest part being denying him his beloved breakfast . Vet Sue came out to get him and do the paperwork , and bless his heart he trotted in with her good as gold which made me feel even more like They will ring me mid afternoon xx
He won't hold it against you and because he's already had plenty of positive experiences with the vet, I can't see it making a dent in his future willingness to "trot in there as good as gold". I always wondered at Brogan and how he loved going to see his orthopaedic surgeon despite the truly horrific (but necessary) things they'd done to him. But he loved them and nothing could change that.
Reuben will be the same. He'll probably remember the missed breakfast more than anything!
I will be thinking of you today Kate, I used to hate it when mine were operated on but so pleased when they came home. Don't be concerned IF he looked bruised, when I had one of my dogs done, he was very bruised! My other two never had a mark, except the smallest incision, but all were fine.
Nurse has just rung , we can pick him up at 3 , she says he is fine , a little wobbly but is doing well and, in her words ` He is ready to come home ` , phew . Now the fun starts x
The worst is over Kate, just don't get too screwed up tonight if he is not himself and whines, he may not. Tomorrow he will be virtually back to normal and you will be tearing your hair out trying to keep him calm!
