Cassie came to us when she was 5 years old, she's now 13 and a half. She can't walk much anymore, she's only got about 30% movement in her hips but with pain management and exercise she's an absolute joy to look after.
All the family adore her and what Cassie wants, Cassie gets is the mantra, I'm the party pooper as I truly believe that keeping her weight under control is extremely important.
She gets her own walks now, we're lucky that right outside my back garden is a public footpath between fields and it has a lovely hill that we can gently exersise those hips, no lead required, she gets to amble, a few times up and down, then down again, I get to sit and admire the view while she gets to sniff and Potter. I really do enjoy these moments.
Cassie doesn't come up on the sofa much as she struggles to get up but on the rare occasions she manages it I so appreciate the cuddles. She is one of the most human friendly dogs I've ever had.
