Great news @Naya , well done. I'm sorry Harley has been limping, but pleased that she is responding well to the treatment plan you are following.I’m over the moon with her weight loss. T
@Emily_Babbelhund suggested a fish diet for Rourke but I am not into using fresh food, too difficult to get raw fish. I wonder if you feed fresh or dried and if dried, which one? Rourke is back on the lead for two months and will put weight on again, he has been on half measures! Does it help the arthritis at all?She was weighed before we started and she is now 29.9kg. When she first got diagnosed with arthritis she was 32.2kg, so I’m over the moon with her weight loss. The fish and veg diet are clearly helping![]()
Look in any supermarket in the frozen section. Morrison's has the best deal that I've found. Then 10 minutes in the microwave from frozen, slightly less if partially thawed. A batch lasts me 2-3 days.too difficult to get raw fish
I buy frozen white fish from Tesco. It takes 15 mins in the oven to cook. A bag is about £2 and lasts her 3 days. I just add carrots, broccoli and green beans. I also add tumeric & green lipped muscle which I buy on amazon for about £8-£10 per pot which each last over a month. I do think that having this change of diet has really helped with her arthritis and managing her weight.@Emily_Babbelhund suggested a fish diet for Rourke but I am not into using fresh food, too difficult to get raw fish. Not saying you need to do it - you have so many other things going on and there are really good kibbles out there - just that fish isn't hard to find.
I've never tried catfish as I thought it would have too many bones. Obviously not a problem, though?catfish fillets
Do you think fish and vegetables is sufficient? Dried food usually has vitamins and minerals in it. I will have a look at the green lipped mussels and turmeric. Good to read your personal experience and that you think it has helped, which is encouraging.I buy frozen white fish from Tesco. It takes 15 mins in the oven to cook. It’s been good for us. She has 25g kibble with her evening meal and is a lot more energetic and seems to be getting back to her cheeky antics. If she was lethargic at all I would look at changing.Do you think fish and vegetables is sufficient? Dried food usually has vitamins and minerals in it. Yes, fish4dogs. As she only has a small amount each day it doesn’t cost that much. That is good to know @Naya, is it fish kibble?
