Hi Everyone

Hi Everyone,

I was very kindly invited to come and join your forum so I thought I'd just say a quick "Hi" to everyone and introduce myself and my little tribe, my name is Lisa and I share my life with my partner, senior Greyhound girlie Gracie, my two little whippet boys Cooper and Stanley and we also share our property with my in laws and their two dog's Faith and Obi, (a Lurcher and Saluki) so life can be interesting sometimes lol! Gracie is my very very chilled out girlie, my little boys are adorable but a touch complicated which has led me to increasing my love of learning about dog's to spending most of my spare time learning as much canine related information as I can possibly digest and am now probably verging on the definition of "crazy dog lady" lol, so that's us really,

Hi Lisa,
Welcome to this little gang of friends.
I know I would LOVE to see a photo of your gang.
I don't know much about whippets, though I remember we walked one for a neighbor a few years back and giggled at Lilly, zooming through a puddle in full labrador mode, while this dainty little whippet boy was clearly horrified at the thought of getting wet.

Great to have you here!
Jacqui and Lilly x

Willow and Shadow absolutely adore sighthounds; in fact, Shadow has never had any aggro with them - maybe because he can't catch them :cwl:

But they love chasing games so whippets, lurchers etc are just perfect for that. They are so fast that they don't have a problem catching most dogs, and think they love the challenge of a whippet becoming a dot in front of them!

Hi Lisa, welcome to the pack! I'm a crazy dog lady in training; only have one so far, Kipper who's a nearly-12 months old lab. I have aspirations of many, many more :D I love whippets too, have known a couple belonging to friends and they were the gentlest, most affectionate little souls.

Hi Lisa and welcome.

Our energetic Lab, Hurricane Harv, has a Greyhound friend that he sometimes plays with - on sharp, twisting turns Harv has a slight edge but in a straight line, try as he might (and he does try!), he can't compete ;)

Hi Lisa and co, welcome to this lovely Forum from myself and 2 year old Cassie. she's spirited and lively and has pushed me on to learn everything I can about modern dog training!
I strongly considered a whippet when thinking of getting another dog, but having grownup with gundogs, although never a Lab, they won!

Thankyou so much everyone for such a lovely welcome, :giggle: being completely honest I did try to add a photo in my original post but apparently that failed miserably so I shall try again here and keep my fingers crossed

This is one of my recent favourites of the whippety pair,

This is Gracie

And photobucket doesn't like me at the moment and isn't letting me pop anymore photos here for now,

They are such gentle dog's, they can be totally goofy, do like a good zoomie (Gracie still has her moments even at 13 this month, Stanley isn't able to do full on zoomies really but does have attempts in the garden, Cooper is like a little rocket when he goes lol) on the flip side of that they are so so lazy! Very sensitive, and Jacqui your comment made me laugh as I think "clearly horrified by water" totally sums Stanley up which I'm aware of every time I have to carry him over a puddle! I've had a massive interest in anything "dog" related since our first greyhound came home 13 years ago (I was terrified of dog's until just before then when I met my partner his collie and lab) but it's the boys that have really ignited my passion, Cooper doesn't do so well with other dog's after we got quite badly attacked a few years ago he's also not the most confident little poppet but my gosh he loves to do anything training related with me! and Stanley well the easiest way to explain Stanley without an essay he came from a dreadful puppy farm we weren't sure he'd make it but he did and thankfully so but he's an example of how damaging those places are, genetically and health wise he's alsorts of wonky and he struggles with anxiety on many levels, at home with us he's in his happy bubble and the world is now getting bigger for him, so that's abit more about us lot!

oh my giddy aunt, they’re pretty good photos! Those boys are glorious, they belong on the cover of Country Life. And Gracie is just beautiful- what a lot of character in that girl’s face
They all sound super characters.
