Homer being sick

This may have been asked and answered, but after speaking to my doggy pal, I wondered if you had tried Homer on wet food? I wondered if it would stay down better. Either tinned or from a tray I mean.

The other thing I was thinking about, was perhaps considering discussing erythromycin antibiotic with your vet. Another prokinetic, we see it used in diabetics with gastric paresis when other drugs have failed.

I think too there are loads of natural substances that can help - ginger and cucumarin are two that are mentioned frequently. Also peppermint, dandelion rooting and artichoke, but no idea about the latter ones and how you would use them.

He has a mix of soaked mashed up kibble porridge and a tin of wet food. sometimes I can’t mash faster than his expectations to be fed. He’s always been Mt impatient! after eating I’ve kept him sitting by giving him a piece of dry kibble one at a time every minute or so. Giving him the chance to flush out his oesophagus was interesting as to how much whole kibble pieces had got stuck. I got out my old kitchen blender and gave his kibble a real good mash up. So will see if it makes a difference.
I have a slippery elm digestive supplement for him. Ginger may help. I’ll look into the others. I’ll look into
erythromycin and ask the rvc vet.
all that I’ve read warns of the risk of affixation, but I’m cautiously confident Homer is ok with managing his regurgitation. I know “ he is only a dog” but he is able to let me know what he needs. I just need to listen to him more.

at the moment both my boys are fast asleep watching the rugby.
