I'd agree with this. We worried about how we'd cope when Solstice went through it, but we did, and although it took some adjusting to, it was so well worth it and actually not as difficult as we'd feared. Also I think our Labs are on the whole very stoical dogs, which helps.

Well no breakfast today my sweet boy. He knew straight away. I was a complete mess when I left him for his operation . I promised him no more major operations and here we are again. We will hear at 4 when we can fetch him. Feel like pants putting him through this again. I know it is for the best.

Picking him up at 1630. Operation went well and we'll get all the details when we pick him up. Going for a quick walk now to clear my head.

What a relief. If it is any comfort, I use to be a vet nurse and many dogs who had major ops, would come back for their check up, with wagging tails and smiling faces. They don't think the same as we do.

Well he is very confused. We go back Thursday to take his bandage off and stitches are out after 10 to 14 days. The TPLO op went went well and he confirmed the acl was ruptured. He has an inside out rubber glove to keep his foot dry! The vet uses this as they never leak. Today was warm and I am glad it gets cooler tomorrow.

It's always distressing to see them post anaesthetic, but I'm sure he'll be brighter once it's worn off properly. The most important thing is that it's gone well. for Hunter and for you.

It is the anaesthetic which gets to them, poor wee mites, he will feel so much better tomorrow, thank heavens it is over. x
