Apologies for not responding earlier @Cath

Harley has good days and bad days. Most days she wants to go for a walk, but walks 2 houses up, across the road onto the grass for a wee then back home.
She wakes up choking a lot and her breathing gets very raspy.
Hydrotherapy was stopped as she was really struggling to do 3x 1 min walks on the treadmill, even filled with water higher to help.
She sleeps a lot and is on a lot of medication.
She struggles to get up from lying down and we have to lift her onto the bed and sofa.
She has 2 large fatty lumps in her tummy near her back legs which aren’t helping, but we don’t want to put her through more surgery.
The positive is that she still barks and is happy to see people and will get up, grab a teddy and parade around for about a minute.
It’s really hard as one day I feel it’s unkind to keep her living like this, but other days she seems brighter and feel it’s unkind to put her to sleep.

So sorry. It is so difficult to see them struggling. It’s wonderful to hear that Harley still loves to see people and parade around with a teddy. Hopefully it’s the meds that are making her tired but also keeping het pain free. Sending much love xxx

Harley has deteriorated this week, especially the past 2 days. She is struggling to get up and move around without her legs going under her. She’s wanting me 100% of the time and whines a lot and is clearly in a lot of pain now.

We’ve made the most difficult decision today and have made arrangements for her to go to sleep on Sunday at 12pm. She will go to sleep at home where she is the most comfortable. It’s heartbreaking but the right time.

Oh Naya, this is so hard. Clearly it’s the right decision for her and darling Harley will know nothing beyond constant love until her last moments. Its the toughest love there is - thinking of you all x

Oh Naya,
It's the most difficult and the saddest thing about having a dog, and a decision that is taken never lightly and only out of love.
I'm so sorry to hear that the time has come. My heart breaks for you and my thoughts will be with you on Sunday.
Sending lots of love and many  :hug:xxx
