I am really worried about Harley. She is struggling with her leg and seems to drag it at times. She struggled getting up one step (front door) yesterday. We go out every day to a different park and she will walk for a few mins, stop for a few mins etc. We do a max of 10 minutes walking. Vets say she should be doing 2 x 15 mins every day. And home she doesn’t mooch around much, just sleeps unless someone is here. She has also fallen down a few times when turning whilst walking. She’s on antibiotics for another 4 weeks. The swelling has gone down a lot, but is still there. We’ve got vets in 2 weeks for a check up. My OH thinks I’m being silly and keeps saying she needs time to adjust, but I just don’t know. I’m worried.

I think trust your gut @Naya , and make an appointment to see your vet. It might well be that Harley's behaving within expected parameters, but it does sound like she's struggling and not recovering as you would hope and as the vet predicted. You know her best, and if you're worried there's a reason - 2 weeks feels like a long time away right now.

@Naya, you know your lovely Harvey better than anyone. If you're worried, then back to the vet is the best solution, I think, even if it's just to put your mind at rest. I do hope she's better soon, a poorly dog is just the saddest thing.:thelambiesarecoming::hug:

@Naya I know I’m repeating what everyone else has said and you’ve probably already been on to the vet but if Harley was my dog and I was as worried as you obviously are I’d be going back to the vet as soon as possible. Whether what Harley is going through is normal or not you need to know for your peace of mind. If your worried and anxious, which I would be too, it won’t help you or Harley.

I am so sorry @Naya , so hard when our dogs are stuggling, and we are doing everything we can to support them, you must be exhausted! I would be concerned about the amount of exercise prescribed in relation to how Harley is managing.. is that what is worrying you? Especially wrt to dragging, and loss of balance. If you feel that something isn't quite right... then trust your gut. No-one knows Harley like you do.:hug:

Spoke to the vet last week and they said to adapt our walks to suit Harley and that due to her age it might take her longer to recover. We have an appointment on Tuesday morning so they can actually see her. I still don’t think she is where she should be. I’ve written a list of what my concerns are and what I want to know.
