Dogs/cats are so good at hiding their pain, don’t feel like you have let her down, you haven’t  She’s very lucky to have you

@Naya Poor Harley and poor you. You are doing the right thing though. I hope now her painkillers are increased Harley will start having more fun days which will make you all feel better. You must‘t blame yourself about the pain killers. There’s no way you could’ve known. You were doing what the vet advised. If the hydro therapy people don’t think it hydro is suitable for Harley could they continue with physio and massage ? It sounds like it helped Harley and that she was happy to have it done. Also it would be someone else who will get to know Harley that you can ask advice from regarding pain control and improvement in her leg. They may well be able to feel improvement in movement etc that you can’t see.

@Naya I think letting Harley decide what she wants to do is the right thing to do. If she fancies a walk or just a mooch in the garden then a snooze it’s up to her she’s earned the right to choose at her age. When Murphy got to the age were he wasn’t fussed to go for a walk every day or run for a ball, he’d always been a very active dog, I remember discussing it with the vet. (A very good vet) She said he’d looked after me and made me happy all these years now it was his turn to be looked after and be happy doing what he wanted. She was right and I’ve always remembered that with my other dogs. I’m not sure about the looking after me bit though. He’d happily hide behind me if something scary came along usually a tiny Healer that lived near us. It wasn’t much bigger than his head but Murphy thought it a ferocious beast and put me between him and it :mmm: I know emotionally it can be very hard but just keep doing what your doing and as long as Harley is happy that’s all that matters.

Yesterday Harley managed to do hydrotherapy in the treadmill. She managed 4 x 5 second walks then preceded to sit down in the water 😂.
We upped her meds last night as she was struggling to get up from lying down. She’s a bit stiff this morning so probably won’t take her out today.
