Thanks for asking Cath.
This week has generally been a good one too . Harley has wanted to go for a walk every day which is great. Sometimes it’s 10 mins, others 30 mins. I follow her lead on what she wants. It’s been challenging with the fireworks as she runs up the garden barking usually. She done this once and came into the house limping. Since then she just barks. Pain meds and antibiotics are still working which is great

This week has generally been a good one too .

I am so annoyed today. We went for a walk this morning. Half of the fields are blocked off as work is being done so there is only 1 path between the two fields instead of 3. Walking down the path I spot some older ladies with 3 dogs all off lead. Harley is on lead. I called ahead and asked them to call their dogs to them due to not wanting dogs jumping or knocking her. They looked at me then looked away - they basically ignored me. We walked as close to the fence as we could, Harley closest to the fence. One dog ran over and had a sniff- we kept walking and I again asked them to keep their dogs away. The other 2 dogs then came over. At first Harley ignored them, but 1 wouldn’t stop sniffing her behind. She gave a small bark as if to say ‘enough’ - it carried on. She then turned round and barked a few times telling it to go away. The big dog ran over and jumped on her. At this stage I shouted none to politely to get their dogs. Harley fell down under the weight of the big dog and I yanked it off her. 2 of the women started shouting at me telling me my dog is dangerous and should be muzzled. I replied so should their dogs then and that if they see a dog on lead they should not let their dogs go over to the dog as they could be injured just like Harley was. The abuse I got was awful. We walked away with them following. I moved well off the path as soon as we were in the other field to let them pass, but they stood in the way so we couldn’t go back towards the car. When I asked them to move on, they laughed and said it was a free world and they could stand where they wanted. By now, Harley was limping more and I was getting so annoyed. After a few mins a man walked towards the gap and asked them to move to let others by. As they moved slightly, we squeezed past and left.
I am still so frigging annoyed. We are having a chilled afternoon as OH is in Plymouth collecting our car from our daughter.

So sorry this happened. Poor Harley and poor you. What awful people. I would’ve videoed them and reported them—do you have a dog warden? Although of course easy for me to say so now; if it had happened to me, I’d have not thought of videoing and would’ve got very upset.

How rude! They don’t deserve to have dogs if they can’t be sensitive to other dogs’ needs. As for blocking the path , it’s definitely bullying. I hope you don’t meet them again.

That’s just SO horrible. The rule is if a dog is on lead, then there is a reason and you put your own dog on lead - it’s not a big deal and once passed, you can let your dog(s) off again. They turned what should have been an easy situation into something extremely unpleasant. I hope you are ok @Naya and Harley also

Sadly I don’t think a dog warden would do anything about this. Also these situations generally catch you off guard - just want a relaxing walk with your dog - so not always easy to think about videoing

What a horrible thing to happen to poor Harley and to you. It sounds very much like bullying behaviour to me. I hope there are other places you can walk without running into them again. I really don't understand some people. How is that responsible behaviour? Hope you're both recovering at home and have a peaceful evening.
