Introducing Jacob

Can I just check a few things with the puppy experts. Four poos in five hours ok? Two a little soft, two quite firm? All on the grass outside
He's had hiccups four times now, they go in a minute or so, can't ever remember Monty getting them

Soft poos usually means their meals are a little big. My baby pups have four meals a day. They tend to poo after each meal - and sometimes extra in-between poos too.

Hiccups are often a sign of eating too quickly. Maybe spread his food out on a towel?

He's having / going to have four meals a day, I've made them at least 10% smaller than breeder suggested as I'm also putting the fresh raw (nutriment) into Kongs, and feeding kibble as rewards, and play.

He's on fresh goat's milk, again as recommended by breeder, mixed with all his food, so they have to be in a bowl. If poos are still so frequent / soft by tomorrow evening I'll reduce down a bit more..
Though he actually hasn't had another poo since, it might just be a settling down thing.

Personally I wouldn’t bother with the milk. Or give it separately so that you can spread out his food?

Here's a few videos from today, sorry again not edited so feel free to skip! Today has felt more manageable than yesterday, he's slept more, nearly all in his crate/ pen. He's got bolder with Monty, annoying him and properly hurting him when he grabbed onto his jowl making him cry out in pain. OH had to physically remove him from Monty's lip.

I'm tempting fate, but all poos and wees have been outside today, not even one in the pen.

I've decided this is all doable of both of us give him our full time attention.

I've charged the clicker today, he's managed a couple of sits, one lie down, and two nose touches. Hasn't got a clue what his name is as he's been called puppy, pup, chunk, monkey and a couple of other choice words far more than Jacob

Just think of Jacob as your project name. When you're ready to go to market, you can give him a different name or decide to keep his project name. And you get to decide when you're ready to go to market.

(and if none of that made sense, maybe I've been working in software too long)

But these things can take a while though. Let's face it, even properly connecting with that sweet little pup takes a while. It's all very well for me and the rest of us doing this vicariously, we are (probably) not sleep deprived. I'm sure the right name will come. Or the name you thought you had decided on will begin to feel right. Love to you all.xxx

The breeder just told me they called him Baloo because of his fluffy coat I've called him big/little /chunky/smelly Bear loads of times, so there might be an ursine link to be found.

He tried to eat my hat today, does that count?.

I feel such an idiot about the name thing. I was convinced something would stick when we got him. Can i just call him puppy? That's working out so far
