I’ve had Keir’s mid-term report. He’s about to go into advanced training - clever boy xx

“Keir is making great progress in all aspects of the guiding role. He loves his work and is very enthusiastic to join in with whatever we are doing that day. Keir has now learned all the basic guiding commands and the responses he needs to make. We now need to develop these techniques and behaviours and consolidate all he has learned so far. We will do this by moving to more complex working areas that include busy streets and towns with more street furniture and environmental features, off set road crossings and indenting kerbs. We have now complete one traffic session successfully. All public transport has been covered with Keir happily travelling to and from Leeds rail and bus stations on trains and buses.

I will be taking Keir onto Advanced training at the beginning of November, because Keir is a sensitive boy we think it best to reduce the number of handler changes.

Keir is clean on all walks and a good spending routine is established. His boarder reports he is lovely to have in the home, he is very aware of sudden loud noises but recovers immediately.

Keir has been a pleasure to work with. All your hard work is very much appreciated and hopefully Keir will progress through training successfully.

Thank you for all your efforts.”

Here he is doing some fundraising at the station.

What a fabulous report, very well done Keir and you should be proud :giggle: Mags! I love that he does fundraising - I’m assuming it’s a northerly station, otherwise I’d be sooo tempted to go and see the boy in person (dog?) :)

Leeds. I nearly went too!

I decided an hour was a bit long on the train for Spencer as he’s only done one stop so far - grrrrr!
