Heavens. little Ted is growing fast!
He's grown such a lot. He seems such s sweetie.
Yes! He’s going to be bigger than expected, he’s already nearly as big as his parents! Luckily I no longer need to lift him. He can run outside for the toilet without stopping to wee on the way, and he can jump up on my knee. He’s sleeping downstairs now. So the only lifting will be in and out of the car and, most of the time, Mr Boogs can do that bit.

Good morning everyone. We are going on our holidays today, Mummy is going to miss us very, very much.

(Tatze’s going to Zaba’s and Ted is going to his breeders to be with Rowan, his doggy Mum. We are off to Germany for two weeks. Then Mike, Tina and Anuka are coming here for a week to ‘say goodbye to the house’.)

He’s bigger than his Mum!
You know, my first Rottie came from a breeder who was amazing but after her lines started experiencing mysterious health problems, she decided to switch from Rottweilers to Papillons (not breeding anymore but obedience). That's kind of weird in itself, but she went out, did all her research, and got a pap puppy (this is going somewhere, I promise).

Anyway, she still had several of her older Rottie girls, so this pap puppy came home to be mothered by her ginormous new siblings and grew and flourished. And grew. And grew. And grew. He ended up the biggest papillon the breeder had ever seen!

I'm convinced that the little pap simply thought he was a Rottweiler and grew accordingly.

Ted might think he's a Labrador. Just saying. 😉

I’m not sure how soon pup’s ears can be tested?

I know Ted can, he can hear his food tin being opened from the bottom of the garden!
Im very wary of a blue eyed Merle. They can test pups early with distraction tests and then more formally later (6.5 weeks)they do it a lot with Dalmatians. Merle is not a good gene.
