Alcohol is being rationed!!!!:shock::shock:View attachment 13954

One litre of alcohol over 22%, one litre under 22%, and two bottles of wine or sparkling wine per person, per day.

THE HORROR!!!
I'm with @Jacqui-S - this is the beginning of the end

Our supermarkets all now only let the elderly or disabled or vulnerable in for the first hour. Our Govt has announced an emergency package of various support areas including a cash payment to pensioners and others and things to help businesses stay afloat. It's a good start but more is needed

Our local Coles was almost bare of meat and hubby couldn't get potatoes of onions there or at the fruit & vege shop.

A world without alcohol or potatoes
:veryconfused:

You can have mine if we can get any. I really dislike eggplant. A childhood experience of veges cooked in a pressure cooker until they no longer resembled anything with mass developed into a life-long dislike of most hot veges. I live on salads all year round

The last time OH put broccoli on my plate I threw it at him (the broccoli, not the plate)

Overheard by a friend of mine in the supermarket ,two young women chatting, one said, The pasta shelf is empty to which the other replied , I got eight bags of the stuff last week , dont know what the hell I`m supposed to do with it `cos I`ve never cooked it before and the kids wont like it, its not like chips is it ?
Almost funny , but really its the epitome of selfishness x

Oh FFS....honestly SO selfish it is beyond words. But I imagine it is the same in many households around the world.

My mum saw these two girls (maybe in their 20's) seeing pallets of cans of spam. They had a look to try and figure out what they were and then emptied three pallets into their trolley.

My mum walked up and told them off! She told them they were being selfish and that they were buying something they probably wouldn't even use as they clearly didn't even know what it was. They said they did so she quizzed them on what was in the cans and they couldn't answer.

Oh mum 🤭😂

Good on her! Maybe it made them have a good long look at themselves

We refuse to hoard but I can feel a part of my brain telling me we should. I assume there is some underlying base instincts at work but I'm ignoring it. We have enough in our freezer and pantry to last a month and we top up where we can every couple of days with whatever fresh stuff we can get.

Your mum rocks:rock:

One of those daytime shows is telling all these pasta hoarders what do do with it. How to cook with what's in your cupboard sort of thing. I had tv on yesterday and a picture of libbys custard or something from 1984:unsure:, the viewers had been looking in their cupboards and they've been sending photos of the oldest stuff they have.
Now as a cleaner I have a major issue with a tin from 36 years ago, not whats in the tin but have they not cleaned their cupboards for that long.

We dont hoard normally, but you unfortunatly get swept up in it to an extend. We bought some head, milk oats and some tinned items. All that we use, but bought an extra one of each. Stupid I know, but when walking into a supermarket and shelves are nearly empty you kind of think better get one.
MIL asked me if I could get some TP for her, because she uses about 1 a day due to her illness. Managed to get a 6 pack, but asked a lady at supermarket is it worth her coming at 7am to do some shopping. Told her what she needed, she just said 'nope, we wont have any of those items delivered'. So whats the point of getting this group out of bed spend money on a Taxi and then have to return empty handed. Absolutly pointless...
