Merry Christmas?

Simba is fine, no worries. When we first got him he ate tons of grapes off the vine in our backyard, before I knew grapes were an issue. His poos were literally more grape seed than poo at one point. 🙄🙄🙄

It was a store bought fruitcake, basically a long narrow rectangle, with marzipan icing. OH had bought it yesterday. He had two slices, I had one. Yes, it was left on the counter. Should have known better but he hardly ever counter surfs anymore....We were downstairs watching TV when I heard a slight plastic rustling sound...sprinted up to see him coming out of the kitchen with THE WHOLE THING in his mouth...a slightly manic tug of war commenced...eventually the fruitcake broke under the stress and Simba ate his prize. I’m more concerned about the cardboard the thing was sitting on (also consumed, along with the plastic wrap) than the fruitcake itself, to be honest. I thought he might upchuck last night but of course he slept soundly as an innocent lamb.

He’s bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning, and has had breakfast. So we’ll see.

Not the batteries too, I hope. :(
Nope, though he did make a hole in one of them with his canine teeth and pierced the battery casing. We did a thorough check of his mouth to check for possible burns, but there was nothing and he didn't appear to have digested anything nasty. Was a bit worrying though. I don't think he's eaten any of it at all, he just loves chewing up plastics, coat hangers are his usual favourite🙄.

PS: Funny story about the remote - Steve rang Foxtel to say our remote wasn't working and could they please send a new one. He had to go through the whole rigmarole of being asked to push various buttons, turn the t.v. on and off etc. All had to be done with a straight face as we wanted a free replacement!
I had a feeling that Maxx had also eaten one. Didn't want to be accusing the boy without being sure though! GGJ, being who she is has never shown the slightest interest in anything plastic. Her favourites to chew as a pup were (in order of preference)
1) Me.
2) My clothes .
3) My shoes.
4) Any wooden furniture.

All stopped once the teething finished though, and all forgiven.

I had this with our PDQ machine at work (credit card machine). Maisy had chewed through the wire so I had to ask for a new one due to 'wear and tear' and the wire being loose :wasntme:

Homer loves Christmas. He Loves opening presents. He helped me open mine then his, then checked through all the wrapping to make sure there was nothing left,
His red drying coat was his present, it’s a cheaper Amazon one and doesn’t quite fit him. So he’ll get a proper new one that fits better soon and this one can go to one of the man trailing collies.

and my expensive Bose headphones.

At about 6 months old Maxx worked out how to paw open the sliding door of the shoe cupboard. He took the left hand shoe of Steve's brown boots, black boots and brand new sheepskin slippers and utterly destroyed them. About $500 worth. We had to put a piece of wood in the groove where the door slides and we only took it out about a week ago (with much anxiousness - but so far so good). It's great as it was a right royal pain to have to bend down and move the piece of wood every time we wanted a shoe. It also houses our linen so every time I wanted a clean tea-towel I had to do the whole wood removal thing. People say you miss puppyhood. I say NO :p
