Mr Stanley Blue

My sister just adopted an 8 month old dog and changed his name and he adjusted very quickly :)

But I do understand if being too similar looking to your Homer is a bit difficult. But he will have his very own personality and quirks which will make them quite different

I have been in converstaions with the man with the little girl puppy who's father is a guide dog sire and mum a therapy dog. But I have walked away. The breeder told me she had a small hernia which wasn't a big issue for me although hubby was more cautious and at first said he didn't want one "that's broken" Problem is that I haven't had time to have proper conversations with Hubby as he's been away looking after his Dad andstep-mum, when home he's been thinking of thier care and not puppies. Hubby is away again so if I had gone all they way up to Yorkshire to see the puppy I would have had to go alone, which would also mean leaving Hubby without our car while he was with his dad and step-mum. The logistics became difficult and I actually started feeling anxious rather than excited. I felt it wasn't right to push ahead when we and especially Hubby have to worry more about his parents care. Just too much going on at once.

This sounds like absolutely the right decision for you, getting a puppy is a big enough thing in itself so making sure the whole household is involved and invested makes things a lot easier (or at least doesn’t make things harder!) in the long run.
Hopefully things will become more settled soon, and the right puppy will come along then. The stars will align, given time!

The sire is a cracking dog with nice EBV values - which are much more accurate when looking at hips and elbows. So the stud dog comes from lovely lines.

The bitch I don't know, her scores aren't as good, but that wouldn't put me off. I would want to learn more about the dams side - for example what do they "know" about the dams mother? Where did she come from? You can see a lot from the kennel club records. Bred 4 times in 4 years - sometimes within the year.
