@Charlie, I don't know if you do this, but if wellies 'eat socks' I always tuck my trousers into my socks, even the little ankle ones, and then they stay on.
Update:
They leak, they have split on the back of the heal so let a lot of water in, soaking footI have contacted Muck Boots with my complaint, had a reply, template to document and send photographic evidence. Not impressed so hoping I get my money back. xx
David does this, but I think you might find the latest versions are not that good, he gets about 2 years out of a pair nowI still swear by my £10 Dunlop boots form Homebase 15+ years ago with extra insoles added. As comfy as a boot in muck and have lasted, and lasted, and lasted ...
A good idea but I am wading through rivers and streams. Are they tall boots Kate? xI have given up on wellies, especially when walking on uneven, wet terrain. A good pair of water proof walking boots with gaiters works really well!![]()
I have friends who have had Muck Boots and they say the same, no grip. I agree Aigles are excellent and each pair I have last for years. It is a pain as I only have these with me in Scotland and it's raining! Maybe I am dodgy on my pins or it's the rough terrain here but I slip and slide all over the place in them, the grip is awful. I feel very insecure wearing them. Never again! Going back to Aigles can't beat them. x
Interesting, so there are some good onesThere are many different muck boots with different tread patterns. Ones with the good walking treads are the Muck Master and Woody Max. I've done greasy rock, steep muddy slopes and all sorts in them with no problems.
We're the only ones, I think! I keep resisting any sort of Wellies because I just don't believe in mud. If there's mud, I just don't want to walk there. I'll happily walk in rain (well, more happily than Carbon at any rate) but it better be on sand or pavement. All my shoes are waterproof, just not Wellie type.I feel as though it’s starting to make sense why I don’t really enjoy walking Stanley in the winter.. I don’t have any of the fancy gear you lot have![]()
Yep mine have been great best and most comfortable boots I've used so far. I've done a lot of off road walking and I not fallen as much as I used too. Any problems I've had they just sent me another pair of boots. My Dunlop's only last a few months because I really hammer my bootsThere are many different muck boots with different tread patterns.
