That must be a relief to get the phone call and soon you will be collecting Nelly and she will be home, warm and safe.

She came home at 3.30 . We have to be extra vigilant as there is a small chance of the wound breaking down so no jumping , even over the back door step . The wound by her front leg is bleeding so I am gently cleaning it , she has a medivest on but is also wearing her cone . I was amazed that she ate her tea and then begged some of ours but I dont want to overload her little tummy . Back at the vets on Friday for a check up , now to watch her like a hawk xxx

She will come to bed with me , I have some special pet pads to put under a blanket in case of bleeding . I am tired , really tired and sadly Annas van has broken down so Reuben will need a walk tomorrow but never mind , Nelly needs careful nursing now and thats what she will get , time to rest when she is over this latest hurdle, bless her heart xx

Exactly what I was thinking. Reuben is a smart and sweet boy - he knows what’s going on with Nelly and will be fine if getting out isn’t in the cards.

Good news that Nelly is home and wanting to eat, I hope you've all been able to get some rest overnight.

I am intrigued as to how Sue has been able to close such a big area of skin loss - what did she actually do? She sounds like a very skilled lady.

Not a good night , she was very unsettled and despite all our care , some of the stitches at the top of her leg have come open . I have some spray from the Vets to put on it, it is only quite a small area that her medivest doesnt cover . @Selina27 , Sue was able to gently pull the two sides together to close but its a toss up whether they stay together long enough to begin healing , we just hope and pray xxx
