What is a zoomie?ha ha xxPepper loved a zoomie after a walk when he was first allowed out on walks. The zoomies post walk mostly disappeared after about 5 months. Now it’s only an occasional zoomie post walk.

Zoomies AKA bum tucks AKA wall of death are when the puppy (or dog!) seems to lose his mind and just has to run run run run RUN! Often round in circles, top speed, and sometimes his back end is going faster than his front end and ends up tucked underneath. It's generally an expression of utter joy and overexcitement. They are to be laughed at and cherishedWhat is a zoomie?ha ha xx
Before we came across the word "zoomies" we called it "dogsgoncrazeeee" (accompanied by much mock-panic from us which just egged him on more and more and more...). Thankyou do u really think it could be the plug?Looks like the calming plug is working
Don’t apologise for asking questions, we are here to help each other along this confusing, crazy, maddening, fun, wonderful puppy path! Without these people here I wouldn’t have survived when I got Tatze (Nearly six years ago) and I had no clue about Labradors. I’d had dogs all my life, but Labs are different with a capital D!
.
I’m going to get a plug refill today there’s still a bit left in it but at least I’ll have itI have had a spate of Spencer waking up early, I thought he was hungry and upped his evening meal - he woke up even earlier and did three poosI’d fed him far too much!
Just warn your daughters they might not get much sleep! Pups + sleep isn’t always guaranteed, just like some babies.

Hi Jill, I tried the plug-in too after our first couple of stressful weeks, over the next 2 months we saw a huge improvement in his not crying when left, but then also at the same time I started investing in making the crate a really happy place to be, and clicker training for quiet, building up from just a few seconds of quiet or being alone. So I'll never know if it was the training or the plug in.... I'm inclined to think the trainingThankyou do u really think it could be the plug?
We wondered whether he could be hungry now he’s over 3months?at this point I don’t think he’ll ever sleep all night
I’m ment to be going away in Feb for the night and leaving him with my two daughters I have to say I’m a bit reluctant!!xx
We feed at 7.30am 12 and 7.30pm when they are that age, then drop the middle meal at around seven months old - I do it gradually. My supervisor did suggest feeding later when one pup was waking early. It didn’t workI’m going to get a plug refill today there’s still a bit left in it but at least I’ll have it
Should I adjust feeding times?currently 7,12 and 5 xx
Gosh, when I read this I had deja vu! This was me. I became completely paranoid about doing everything absolutely right for my tiny puppy - somewhere in my (sleep-deprived) head I think I believed that any bad experience would scar him for life and it would be All My Fault....I’m ment to be going away in Feb for the night and leaving him with my two daughters I have to say I’m a bit reluctant!!xx
andThey all grow out of it
He will be absolutely fine. Your daughters will be fine.
