Nisha and Talía (Negreta and Lulú).... a journey.

Ginny definitely took her sweet time in the video - I was holding my breath!

Talia's such a happy girl and Nisha is making huge progress. J was right in there and she trusted him enough to be more interested in checking out Ginny than barking her head off at J or you. Woo hoo! :monkey:

pee ess - Carbon took a GOOD 15 minutes to recognise Paul the last time we saw him, so Ginny isn't alone in being a bit slow. Paul recognised him right away, but Carbon was all, "Back off, you cheeky little Bodeguero imposter. I know what a Bodeguero is really like because I used to have one as a best friend. NOTHING like you!"

15 minutes later...

"Paul, my bestest best friend in the WORLD!!!"

Carbon really is a smart dog, I swear. :hmm:

I think Nisha has a UTI, gagh. She wees a lot, but she's a marker, so that's not anything new. But she seems to be squatting for a long time and when I managed to get a look from the right angle, there were only some dribbles coming out. Which is either a UTI or more worrying kidney troubles. But without being able to get a sample, how will we know? I've just sent an email off to the vet. I guess our options are that either we try ABs and see what happens, or else the vet comes here to see her and make an assessment. :|

You now have me down a rabbit hole investigating how they get samples from wild animals. So far I know how to get an orangutan urine sample!

🤣🤣
I've seen how they clicker train female orang-utans to hang upside down with their froos pressed against the cage so that the trainers can examine them when they're preggo! Haha, I don't think I have the time for that with Nisha-Noo!

If there is something amiss it will be making it harder for her to settle I would think.
My thoughts, too. If she's feeling unwell or in pain, then she's bound to be even more on edge than she would otherwise be.

Might she even have arrived with that problem, poor sweetheart? That could go some way to explaining the difference between her reaction to her new situation and Talia's?

I must confess, I held my breath through that video. I thought they looked stiff and very uncertain. The raised fur. The raised stiff tails doing the stiff quick wags looked scary to me. Were these all actually good signs?

The back kicks that Ginny did after weeing (or was it pooing?) is something I see Snowie do when he’s uncertain or uncomfortable, or what looks to me like posturing “this is my turf!”. But your commentary was “she wants to play”. I was confused.

The whole encounter was really impressive. You both have nerves of steel and massive hearts.

They were very stiff to start off with. The last encounter was playtime for Ginny. That high tail and pricked ears are how she flirts 😁

Ginny does that every time she has a poo, and sometimes after weeing. When she had four legs it was every time but now she’s only on three, it’s not as common - but rather more impressive!
