Really sorry that Poppy has had more seizures. I can’t imagine how scary they must be for all of you. Please give her belly rubs from me when she’s feeling a bit better. Hope you managed to enjoy your walk with Merlin.

Oh I am so sorry to read that Poppy had a very bad night with her seizures. Of course you are feeling downhearted.
Is she a little better now or still a little wobbly? X
She's much better thank you, you actually wouldn't know anything was wrong with her, but nonetheless I have kept her very quiet all day. OH is suffering an attack of gout, poor thing! So he was fine to stay at home with Pops while Merly and I went for a walk with a friend.

Oh no, poor Poppy and poor you :(
It's lovely that she tries to get to you for comfort because that shows just how much she trusts you, even when the rest of her world isn't making any sense. I hope she enjoys relaxing with Toby - and poor him, too!

Thank you Fiona - yes she clearly feels that we are going to help her, and it helps her just knowing that we are there holding her.

If you ever google 'dog seizures' (don't...), there is a a lot of advice about not holding or cuddling your dog during a seizure, as they might bite. However, from the very first time it happened my automatic response was to hold and comfort her. I think it's a bit different anyway because she is conscious, poor love, during the duration of the seizure.

Toby is feeling a lot better today, thank you! The three of them are just out for a walk.

I am so sorry to read that Poppy is having more fits, maybe this is the time when she should begin medication, it can be very effective. I had an epileptic dog and so I know how traumatic it is and how heartrending. There have been strides in treatment, definitely worth thinking about.

Poor Pops had a big seizure yesterday. We'd been for a lovely hike up in the hills, and had just got back. It was a long seizure, over 10 minutes, but she was right as rain afterwards and you wouldn't know anything was wrong with her today. I wish I knew what goes on in her poor little brain, it just suddenly seems as if there is a kind of system overload, my darling little girl. Anyway, the vet office was closed as it was after hours on New Year's Eve, so I will just chat with the vet on Monday. This was the third lot of seizures in 2021, in January, July and the end of December (which really equates to two per year).
