Red is not well

Poor Red. For the last 3 days/nights she has had diarrhoea. I have been giving her Pro Kolin and her normal food as she has wanted it. I really expected her to be a lot better today. She has been doing a lot of lip licking which I know means she is in discomfort and something is about to happen. After pacing the garden for what seemed like ages and nibbling a bit of grass, she has just been extremely sick twice. We are off to the vets this afternoon

So sorry to hear. It will hopefully pass quickly and the vet can give something to make her feel less nauseas. Do you know if she ate something she shouldn’t have?

Red has been hospitalised at the vets!!

I am in total shock at how quickly she deteriorated this morning. The last hour before our appointment she was having frequent bloody diarrhoea and pink watery sick. We got there and she was very very sick everywhere. Suspected HGE. They are going to do a blood profile and IVF fluids. Dependent on her progress they may want to do an ultrasound. I can collect her this evening to take home or I have to collect and take her to a vets in the city for overnight care. Our vet doesn’t have an overnight facility. Please send positive thoughts for my girl

Oh no, not the news you wanted.
What a dilemma for you too.
Not really the time to discuss it, but I think an unfair decision for pet owners to make.
Sending loads more lambies

Not sure what you mean @Jacqui-S.

The vet has rung me with an update. Red’s bloods are ok which is good. She is being rehydrated and currently sleeping. I go in at 6.45 and a decision will be made whether she can come home or I take her to the overnight vets

Poor Red! Such a worry, and such a quick deterioation! Very similar to a friends dog, who was hospitalised as well, for a good few days in the end.

Sending lots of lambies your way! :thelambiesarecoming::thelambiesarecoming:

Sorry if I misunderstood you.
I thought vet was asking you to make the decision about coming home or being taken to another vet.

Hoping Red picks up quickly
