Sky

Our Euan had also the max on painkillers. Carprodyl and Tramadol. He reacted well on this combination. He had this for 2 years, until he started to be very uncomfortable with pain...
Finn on the other hand got tramadol injection for his back pain 4 weeks ago and didn’t react so well on this. Could be that it was injected and not in tablets though. That’s what I think.
Euan was in the beginning a bit doped and slept a lot. He soon got used to his medication

Ginny was on Tramadol (among endless other drugs) post amputation. She was absolutely fine on it. I know some dogs react badly, but I guess that the majority must be OK with it. I hope it eases Sky's pain and you all find some relief.

Doug was fine on tramadol we also combined it with onsior and he had a great quality of life for 14 more months. Soloman also had his life extended by tramadol. Keeping them pain free is the most important thing they are able to live longer and be happier.

Update on Sky: I am so glad we had those two days with Sky at the coast earlier this month - we both loved having the two dogs with us. Sky got to go in the sea - always been one of her favourite things. Since then we seem to be back on that rollercoaster but more downs than ups. She is very inactive, without any spark and even food she has craved all her life isn’t so so important anymore. She is eating and I hide her medication in wet food. Sometimes she finds the Yumove tablet and rejects it. Fortunately the Meloxidyl and Tramadol get consumed. We can increase the Tramadol and I think we are almost there at doing that. Unfortunately her toilet accidents are increasing - we have been taking her outside at certain times and more or less deciding for her when she goes to the toilet as she is not letting us know. Tonight I was putting my walking boots on to take her for her little toilet and sniff walk - she poo’d in the hall - no indication - just did it. I feel so sorry for her - it’s like she is losing her dignity

You shared special memories with Sky that will always be with you. I am so sorry Sky is not herself, you are understandably worried and upset but you know what to do for your darling Sky so trust what is in your heart Alison. Sending lots of love to you all xxx :hug:

It is so sad when they get old and have no control over when they poo, my daughter put a nappy on her old dog which helped. the Tramadol could be making Sky feel a little 'off'. I am so sorry, but she did have a wonderful time at the sea and that is a good memory for you xx
