Sleep. Or lack thereof.

I found with Stanley the less he was allowed to play with other dogs, the less he wanted to.

Even now, if he’s had an extended time playing with another dog he’s much more interested in them for a few days, as soon as I curb it and have his focus on me he seems to forget about other dogs.

It’s nice when they get older because the nice people you see out walking when they’re a pup, congratulate you as they get older and notice the chance in their behaviour ☺

Squidge is still the typical over-exuberant Labrador when she sees another dog. She is super excited to go and say hi, but she rarely gets the opportunity to, and she will give it up within a very short while. Interestingly, when she does get to play, she will bounce for a couple of minutes and then get bored really quickly. It doesn't matter if they are playful themselves or not, she really isn't interested in continued play. With Willow and Shadow, she will play for ages. I guess because they all know each other so well and so they know the rules of engagement far better. I've even seen Squidge getting a bit peed off with other dogs on a couple of occasions, which I really wouldn't have thought I'd ever see. She doesn't do anything demonstrative, no growling, staring or anything most people would even notice, but she will very deliberately turn and move away from a dog who pesters her.

Rory the same there's some rude dogs about,. He likes to distance himself from dogs who take it too far though and he's really good with young dogs who try to push him to play. He ignores and distracts them with she gets on just started trotting ahead. He's funny

I've notice a thing with Rory that's happened since Moo died. He more keen to get to other dogs more interested in them. If he sees a black lab in the distance he's very interested. I think it's like Mags says they miss the interaction. Rory and me are fine on our own but we'd both love another friend. I play with him loads and we have fun but I can't fill in the doggie space.moo played with him20151225_150115.jpg loads when he was a pup. She used to really tease him to death. when he was small she was ten but would try to bite his face off. I forgotten how much fun they used to have, she would go crazy at him. Doug was unable to really romp with them then but Moo included him by breaking off from Rory and giving Doug a quick savaging then turn and attack Rory again. It's was so funny she was ever so fierce.

Right. I’m getting the crate back out.

He’s going to kill him self if I don’t.

Oh god. Here we go again. The plus side is he’s now used to not howling at night so it might work right?

He’s pooing in the house (last night was a fair one because he has a bad stomach from eating the entirety of the bread bin) and he’s just causing chaos.

I’m off work for a week and my daughter is i. Spain... if we are going to do it.. now is the time

Oh god. Here we go again.
From the photos it looks like he’s pretty comfy in there already -but if you think it may help, our trainer suggested feeding at least 50% of food & treats in the crate just to build a hugely positive association with it (Kipper has been fine with his crate during the day, but at night was increasingly averse to it). I don’t want to speak too soon, but fingers crossed it’s having a good effect - last night he went in at 11.30, down from 1.30 am a week ago...
