Spencer is 13 weeks old today and a real personality. He’s been with us for four weeks. He’s a real softie and loves a cuddle and leans into us for a fuss. He loves Tatze (of course). He’s not too bitey at all until the evenings, then he’s a looooooopy monster who flings himself around, bites everything and doesn’t know how to stop zooming.

He’s a mountain goat and can climb and jump on to anything. The other day we were happily having a G&T at the garden table - he took a flying leap from a standing start and landed on the table! (We saved ourG&Ts, excellent reflexes!). He’s been found on chairs, tables and window ledges :eek:

He’s a total horror with the lawn, he pulls chunks of it up with his teeth then plays with and eats the clots of earth and grass. As soon as he does it we come in or I put his lead on - I hope he’s cured soon, as relaxing in the garden isn’t happening at all just now :rolleyes:

He’s really easy to train as he adores his food and the ā€˜fixed tether’ way of teaching lead walking is working an absolute treat. I love it, we are doing ten steps-treat no problem now. :)

He’s having about two indoor wee accidents a day but all poos have been outside from day 1. I’ve never known a pup wee or drink so much! It must be the heat. He can do four, virtually one after the other. He runs to the door , goes out, does his wee then comes back for a fish cube. If the door is closed he’ll look at me to open it. He wakes up at 4am ish for me to take him out for a poo but goes back to sleep and I wake him up when I come down at 7am. Me showering, brushing teeth, getting dressed etc doesn’t seem to disturb him.

He can do ā€˜sit’ and ā€˜down’ and wait for his food and is recalling garden to inside, inside to garden and room to room. He’s sitting nicely to have his lead put on and doesn’t bite it.

We went to the train station yesterday and watched two trains and a long goods train. I carried him on and off a train. Bus station tomorrow.

Next job is to learn ā€˜wait’

He was so exhausted after today’s ten minute walk he didn’t even make it to his bed.

This is a super update, thanks @Boogie. Look at the length of those legs now, he's a limby boy! Lovely work on saving the G&Ts. That really makes me want one now...

I know we often say all puppies are different - and they are!

We are supposed to put their collar on before they eat - good associations etc.

I simply can not get his collar on before he eats, he’s so hyper and excited for his food he rolls round, bites, twists, lies down and makes it impossible. I’ve been persevering but today I gave up. During his after breakfast nap I popped it on - job done, no problem.

:rolleyes::)
