The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

I got as far as reading...

Carbon and I went to the McDonald's with the dog park and shared lunch. There was even a little sun as we shuttled down the Autobahn towards Frankfurt.
Thought to myself, crikey @Emily_Babbelhund was feeling a bit gungho! Throwing caution to the wind! What the heck!! I am so sorry...but had to laugh! I know it's simply, totally awful, but your wonderful writing style brings it to life in such funny, poetic way....

Anyhow, safe travels, can't wait to see you! Supper will be a gentle omelette, goats cheese, peas and mint....?

Yeah, that's why I mentioned you. At the time I was thinking, "Kate would be alternately shaking her head in dismay and laughing her backside off!" What can I say? I'm a total food addict who doesn't seem to learn my lessons. Just like a cocaine addict who thinks, "Oh no, won't OD THIS time!". The shame, the shame...

:giggl:

Actually I HAVE learned my lesson crossing the Channel in your direction: NO breakfast, NO protein bar snacks in the Tunnel and for love of all that's holy, no stopping at M&S or McD's for 'just a nibble' along the motorway between London and Bristol.

Hola todos! I am taking over because ML is so sleepy she cannot write any more. No, nada! This is bien, just fine with me as we are a team. A travel team and a writing team. Entonces vamanos! Here we go!

Today nothing exciting happened. I promise you. ML did not set the morning alarm because she said, "Carbon, you always wake me up at 8 am anyway, so I don't need it." Que bien, how good: I needed my beauty sleep and decided to sleep until ML woke up. She did not wake up for twelve hours! This meant that I had lots of beauty sleep and now look my very guapo self. ML still looks tired, que lastima, such a shame. And a mystery: how much beauty sleep does one human need?

Our long sleep meant that we did not do much the rest of the day. I had my breakfast, which was really lunch, and then my walk. We walked to the beach, but there was a sign saying "No dogs" in French. Pffft! I do not think much of these French with their No Dogs signs everywhere. There was another sign that said, "Malo les Bains: northern France's most beautiful beach". Pfft again! How can a beach be the most beautiful with NO DOGS running and playing on it?

ML went to the food store to get something for her and mackerel in tomato sauce for my dinner. Que rico! How I love mackerel in tomato sauce. Then we went home. ML said, "Carbon, now I'm going to sit at the computer and do my work". Ja, ja, ja (that is Spanish for 'ha, ha, ha')...I have heard that a lot in the last weeks but it always ends the same: ML's face on the table and more napping. Today was the same.

Then there was a dinner and a walk and ML working on her taxes. I can tell when she works on taxes because her face gets all wrinkly and grumpy. I helped cheer her up by sharing her dinner baguette and now we are cuddled in bed. Ves, you see? The traveling life is not always exotic adventure!

Here are some of my photos from the last few days.

ML and me at the airport. Cookie Man (aka Grandpa) took the photo so I am giving my "Por favor, just one more cookie" face.

Good grief, I've only just caught up with this. Oh @Emily_Babbelhund you poor love what an absolute nightmare.

Reading your tale of utter horror, I'm afraid I was almost crying with laughter - what does that say about me? How you manage to maintain your sense of humour and strength of purpose is way beyond my understanding. You are certainly made of very tough stuff.

You have cheered up what has been a tricky few weeks, although I feel guilty that it has taken reading of your intestinal woes to do this. You really do need to avoid McD and such places like the plague.

:hug: for you and Carbon x
