The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Short note at 2am (though I'm wide awake! 😂) to say we made it. Poor Carbon didn't sleep hardly at all - kept sitting up, then laying down, then sitting again, plus the 2 year old across the aisle kept trying to hang off his face - so it was a long trip for both of us.

I'm already feeling weirdly out of place and ready to run back to Germany, but tomorrow is another day.

 I'm sure my mood will be greatly improved by some Mexican food.

Glad you both arrived safely. I’m guessing the conversation in the two year old’s house is something along the lines of: Thank goodness there was a lovely friendly Labrador on the flight. Don’t know how we would’ve managed the long trip with this busy toddler.

Did they at least acknowledge that the toddler was being a pain to you and Carbon?

Mexican food!! Yummmm!!

Oh yes, she was a very nice lady from Spain and kept telling the little boy, "Gentle, gentle!' and "Not the eyes!". She asked first if the boy could pet Carbon and while of course I didn't mind and said yes, at the same time I was thinking, "this could be a problem if the kid wants to pet him for all 11 hours". Which of course he did and several very loud temper tantrums happened when the mother wouldn't let him hang on Carbon any time he wanted to. Finally the mother and father (a massive American guy) switched places and then there was no more playing with Carbon until just before landing. He was an adorable little kid but what a nightmare to fly with a baby!

Hola todos! I have had so many adventures lately but stubborn ML is not sharing ANY of them. Que lastima! What a pity! Because I complained so much about my modelling efforts going to waste, here are some photos that ML finally pried out of her camera of one of our recent German adventures to a local park that has some castle ruins. I was not completely impressed with the castle, because amigos, I have seen some REAL castles in my time, but I enjoyed posing on the bridge going over the very impressive moat. A castle on a hilltop with a MOAT is not something you see every day. How did they get the moat up there?

Obligatory scenery shot with no me...que aburrido, ML, que aburrido. Yawn...

Had to re-read this thread... I thought ...I think you are in the states but... wow! You have managed to find somewhere with a real European feel! Teach me to skim read in future! Hope you are OK and just need some rest in order to unravel and relax...
No, that's definitely Germany! It's a little park just outside of Regensburg on one of our adventures a few weeks ago.

There's not a drop of green here in California and Nevada - dry as a bone and a sad lack of castles. But I could probably dig up a silver mining town ruin here in Nevada. 😂

Not too relaxing here so far as my father and I are not rubbing along too well plus I've dug into my project to dispose of all my worldly goods. However as Carbon would remind me, that part is not for HIS thread. Pfft! 😁

That sounds tough..project meaning, dare I mention storage?
It's been in a rented storage locker for 11 years. 😬😳🙄

So...finally time to dispose of everything I can. My original goal was to get rid of everything on this trip. I have re-assessed that and will be proud of myself if I go through all the boxes and get rid of 90% of it. The furniture may have to wait for a future trip.
