What a lovely boy Carbon is to be able to brush off a nasty experience like that. x
Carbon is fine today, Cath. And honestly he was already fine about 10 minutes after the dust up with Jake albeit a bit limpy. As @kateincornwall can attest, he was totally his normal toy-thief self at her house yesterday. I probably shouldn't even have mentioned it, but it was part of Carbon's point of view of the walk on Saturday and made a big impression on me so I just kind of went with it. I didn't mean to worry everyone. He really is fine! How is Carbon today @Emily_Babbelhund. I hope he is well![]()
Jake was a very large husky and collie mix. Absolutely gorgeous and very friendly with me and clearly a beloved long-time participant in the group walks whereas we were the new interlopers. They had been walking nearly together for about an hour already when Jake grabbed Carbon, so I'm really not sure what set him off. He didn't get Carbon fully off the ground, but grabbed Carbon's haunches in his mouth and got in a few good shakes before he gave up. He didn't actually want to hurt Carbon because he could have inflicted massive damage in the time he had him, if had he wanted to. It was a lot of noise and posturing. Scary for sure, but ultimately just posturing. What kind of dog is Jake?? The picking up and shaking (a dog the size of a Labrador!) sounds horrific. I would not have been able to continue the walk with them, worried that Jake’s owner would not be able to control him. Carbon sounds like he is truly bombproof.
Maybe, but I’m not sure that I would want to risk it either, especially with a dog larger than Carbon! Wispa is much happier meeting other dogs off-lead when we’re out, but there’s always the thought that something could go wrong…If I do another walk with them, we should probably just let the two off lead to play as I think it was mainly down to them being on lead. However I'm not sure I could deal with that myself. I'm 99% they would have a good wrestle and be done with it,
I would always choose you well above Poldark, my handsome Señor Carbon xPoldark, eat your heart out. When is my own series coming out about the most guapo gentleman in all of Cornwall?
Also…why does she always make me stand on things?
