The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Then ML discovered a weird obsession with fishing nets. I support her in this endeavour only because I get a cookie every time she takes a photo even if it is not of me. She thinks I do not understand that I am not being photographed , but amigos , I understand very well. I am just veeeeery good at getting the cookies, no? Here is an Italian word for you: “furbo”. It means sneaky but in a very intelligent way. I am a very furbo kind of Señor.

We also saw some colorful street art. Or horrible graffiti - it is in the eye of the beholder .

Oops, I am too tired to write anymore and ML has already tucked me in under the duvet. We had a beautiful night wee walk under the Christmas lights . ML says tomorrow is a ‘rest and admin’ day, which means I get to snooze in the sunshine while she buys our tickets back to Germany and to Cornbeefwall. I am very happy about this because I worked so hard these last few days that I have been falling asleep where ever I model. This leetle Spanish Señor is ready to hang up his tourist shoes!

Another one of me time travelling in Pompeii.

That is it for Sorrento, amigos. Today was very gentle: I met a new Cocker friend and had a play, walked on the beach (do not be too envious, it is only a few meters long), and had a siesta while ML spent the afternoon plotting our next adventures. I am happy to say that they will involve far fewer stairs and far more TARDIS. Also more pasties. Pasties are muy importante!

I have modelled for so many photos so I hope at some point, ML can rise to the occasion and show you some of the adventures you haven’t seen yet.

Some, claro, we have no photos for. Yesterday on the main shopping street of Sorrento, for example, we were suddenly passed by a running sheep. Sí, a SHEEP. And then three men ran by, yelling at people to help stop the sheep! How do you stop a sheep on a busy street? That sheep just kept running . ML and I were worried the sheep would get onto the road with cars and be hurt, but a few minutes later , walking back towards us, comes a man carrying the sheep! He was smiling ear to ear and carried a huge sheep like it was a wayward chihuahua instead of a full grown farm animal! These people down here in the south are TOUGH!

Pues, as I was saying, it has been interesting. However we are very ready to go back to la Serenissima and her lack of cars, scooters, and bus drivers who pick poor unsuspecting Spanish gentleman up off all their feet and will not put them down (yes, that happened to me in Capri).

Let us say,”si, si, hooorah!” for our ‘boring’ Venice! We will be there tomorrow !

Oh save us, we have been on the train for 8 hours ! I have missed my dinner ! I do not want to be a traveller anymore! Can one of my amigos here please adopt me?

Pfft!

ML keeps saying that we will be in Cornbeefwall in less than two weeks, so maybe I will be muy brave and stick it out until then, but let me tell you, even Spanish gentlemen have their limits.

I am going to need a spectacular dinner tonight to make up for it or ML can haul herself over all those bridges in Venice. I mean it, I will go on strike .

Pfft again.

8 hours? That’s a long time, especially including missing dinner. Did the train get stuck?

8 hours on that uncomfortable train, you poor wee Spanish dog. I feel for you and your ML x
Mmmmm…Carbón was moaning a bit too hard. He’s had his dinner and wishes to slightly repent. It was 1.5 hours on the small train (plus leaving the apartment 45 minutes before that train left), then 45 minutes wait at Naples train station, then 5.5 hours on the high speed train, then 30 minutes walk to our new apartment . So door to door 9:00am to 6pm. Which even for me felt SO long, and I wasn’t on the hard train floor. I’d be grumpy too if I were the Señor!

However we are now in such a nice little place (with a view of a gondola workshop) and his tummy is full. I think he will be happy again . 😊
