We’re having a lovely relax day today - no driving - and then will barrel through tomorrow all in one go. It’s about 7 hours from Folkestone to Padstow - add a refueling/wee break and my slow driving and it should actually take about 8 hours. I would have liked to do some friend visits along the way, but I don’t see well to drive in the evenings, especially in the UK where I’m sitting on the wrong side of the car and find getting an eyeful of oncoming headlights a problem. So the goal is to get into Upperdeck by 5pm or so.

Hopefully we’ll have time for friend visits as day trips a during my stay instead - more relaxing !

It’s not life or death, but I’m still thinking very positive thoughts for a simple wave-through by UK customs tomorrow. I do everything in accordance with UK law, but the two times I’ve been detained by the Border Force in the past for multiple hours made a life-long impression. As soon as I make it past and am sitting in the queue to get on the train, I breathe a huge sigh of relief!

Muchas gracias, amigos, for the good thoughts! Claro que sí, as the dog part of this team , I do not worry about things like borders. I just snooze in the TARDIS and let ML worry for both of us. Life is too short otherwise, ojalá!

Today is very nice. We have shared French pastries and stayed out of the wind and rain. It is loco out there! What a good day to stay inside and watch the ferries come in and out of port.

Here are a few more photos from yesterday in Bruges. It was very pretty, but ML and are a leetle tired of being international super model and assistant, so our hearts were not really in it.

My zoomies on the beach when I realized we were in Calais says it all: it is time for us to enjoy our temporary semi-retirement in Cornbeefwall. ML has Portuguese to learn and I have sofas to siesta on. Que buena la Vida!

By the way, the main reason we stopped in Bruges was so I could add a county to my list. ML’s rule is that you cannot just drive through : you have to get out and explore for at least an hour .

In a TERRIBLE miscarriage of justice , I have not yet been to Scotland! We must fix that! I have, however, been to Wales and both Northern Ireland and the a the Republic of Ireland. Does that put me in the lead?
