The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Hola todos! Today ML and I went to Fowey, which is on the other side of Cornwall. It was very exciting but not so much a holiday for me because ML is using her cane again and when she brings out the cane, I know that I am WORKING! I am very good at working, but it was not as relaxing for me as yesterday in Bude, so ML has promised me a morning of surfing tomorrow so that I can just have fun, be a dog, and not think so much about my big responsibilities in life. Still do not worry for your Spanish gentleman, because even while I am working hard, I can find some fun - you will see, vale?

We started the day at Readymoney Cove. I think that it is called this because the houses there are very big and you must have a lot of money ready to buy them. Claro que si, of course, as a dog I do not know much about money except that it buys deleeecious food for me, so having a lot of it ready MUST be good, si?

The best thing about the cove was that we saw a human and her dog swimming together. The dog looked very handsome with a yellow life vest on. ML says she wants to buy one so that we can swim in the Danube together this summer. I think this is a VERY bueno idea! Plus I will look even more guapo wearing such a vest, no?

Then we climbed lots and lots of stairs and ML's knee made funny crunchy noises - kind of like the time I found some dead crabs on the beach to eat - and so I had to give her some help. But we made it to the top because we are a good team.

Please note the sexy sit. I am working quite hard on this new pose.

Here I am looking amazing on some stairs going to St Catherine's castle.

And here I am admiring the view of the bay and Miss Dawn French's former house. Lucky her, she got to swim in the cove every day!

"Blue Steel" in a castle: no hay mejor, there is nothing better.

Me getting dramatic with my posing made ML get dramatic with the editing. I call it, "A Spanish knight looking out to sea while contemplating the mystery of life".

After our big walk to the castle, we walked back to the cove and then towards Fowey quay, where ML had a surprise for me. It was a very nice walk, with hardly any cars. There were many, many dogs but because ML forgot to re-fill my treat pouch, I only got cookie dust as a reward for looking at the dogs but not playing with them. Dios mio, she really needs to improve her game. Forget the cookies? I am disappointed in her work ethic, de verdad, truly.

No matter, the sun was shining and Fowey is very pretty. It also smells like fish and chips, and this gets an "AAA" in my rating system.

Next is was time for our surprise: a boat trip! I have been on a quite a few boat trips as I am quite the travelled traveller, but this was my first time in Cornwall. The lady in the ticket booth was very happy to have such a celebrity as me on board and even let me greet her by putting my paws on the ticket counter. ML gave me "that look", but the ticket lady was delighted. My job in spreading joy and happiness where ever I go: accomplished!

This is a boat like the one we boarded:

I started out on my special blanket:

This is Daphne du Maurier's house. The boat captain says her son still lives there. I have of course read Daphne du Maurier because I am a very cultured dog.

Boats are fun! Que divertido!

We saw lots of sights...

...and I snuck away from ML to make a new friend.

Look, it's Readymoney Cove and Miss French's house again!

We listened very carefully as the captain told us about Fowey. And something about Gordon Ramsey, the shouty TV chef. De verdad, you cannot escape Gordon Ramsey or Rick Stein here in Cornwall. Even a dog knows that. Also, I have adopted this new friend and will be following him home. Lo siento, sorry, ML!

And that was the end of our trip: back to the quay for us! ML and I were very tired after our boat trip and the long walk back to the car. We have earned an evening on the sofa, where I am now dreaming of surfing adventures tomorrow.

Wonderful photos and what a fantastic day out, I am envious ☺
But hey Carbon, Cassie says do you not remember crossing to St Michaels mount in a boat together?😏
True to say it's her only boat trip to date, being not such a well travelled traveller 😏

Claro que si, mi amor Cassie, of course I remember! You were much braver than me in getting on the boat. I was very worried! But the boat today was very calm and had nice steps into it. When you come down, we can go together!
