We made it onto the last train! It didn’t go very smoothly, but the important thing is that we’re here and no more changes. Five hours and we’ll be in Venice . I feel like we’ve really earned our visit this time.

And we are here! Tomorrow Carbón can resume his narrative, but right now the poor little Señor is dead beat. We found our hotel with no problem and after a good sleep we’ll check into our apartment tomorrow for a 12 day stay.
Carbón gave himself a seating upgrade on the second train after our only neighbor in the carriage got off.
The last train was in business class with only 6 seats - really worth the extra 15 Euro.
And finally our bed for the night. What a relief!

Thanks so much! The hotel is adorable - actually very on the budget end, run by two brothers with their dog. I stayed here years ago and loved it and it seems even nicer now. The bed and floor are 100% old school Venice decor.Well done, full of admiration for you and for dear Carbon, what a trooper he is. What an elegant bedroom. May the adventure of being in the beauty of Venice begin.

We’ve now arrived in he apartment, it’s really so lovely that I want to cry. But that could be the Aperol Spritz they left in the fridge and the fact that I nearly never drink but I’m drinking this.

Holaaaaa amiiiiiigos! I am now rested and ready to vamanos into new Venetian adventures!
Yesterday was mainly a day for siestas in the sunshine on our little patio, but ML and I did venture out together. ML was a leeetle disappointed with my modeling as she says I have forgotten my ‘smile’ cue and have instead replaced it with showing a singular bottom tooth that makes me look more like a constipated rabbit.
Needless to say, I am un poco offended. Let us see how she does with HER modelling when she gets her Venice public transport card renewed this morning. I am guessing that she will look sillier than my worst day. There is a reason that I am the top model in the family , and it is not about opposable thumbs. Ojala!
Pues, no matter: Venice is wonderful and I have gotten so many loves and pets from the friendly Italians. Que bien este lugar!
