The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

You couldn’t possibly do that to Carbon...! Try them on some unsuspecting passing dog instead and post the photo!

Thank goodness the apartment’s not as bad as you’d thought it might be. You ought to take Carbon to IKEA to help test the pillows!

I'm honestly surprised that you don't already own some doggy lederhosen. This has to be rectified. Gawd, can you imagine how much swag you/Carbon would receive if you took him out in lederhosen? I'm picturing complimentary baked goods, comped meals in restaurants, drinks of your choice, people stopping you in the street to photograph him and nek minnit he's Instagram famous!

I may have gotten a bit carried away there :$

While the tourists would probably love it, Germans would probably remove Carbon from me on the grounds of doggie abuse. I've been soundly rebuked in the past for putting a winter coat on Brogan and already last night got some derisive comments on the street about for Carbon's rain coat...in the rain and 3 degrees!

Germans in general do NOT believe in clothes for dogs, thinking they should be as much as possible in their natural state. On the other hand, Bavarians do love their Tracht (traditional clothing including Lederhosen) so maybe that would be the exception?

Doggie clothes/jackets are such a funny regional thing. In northern Italy you'd be seen as a poor doggie human indeed if you didn't whip out a raincoat at the slightest hint of wet. One year in Venice, I can remember an American tourist walking behind Brogan and me and making the comment, "Is it some kind of law that all dogs have to wear raincoats? They all have them!" And he was right. That same year it was also de rigeur for Venetian dogs to wear human (child's?) wooly winter scarves. But I also got criticism in Venice for putting a light up collar on both Brogan and Carbon - something considered as basic dog gear here in Regensburg. Go figure!

Oh no no no no no no no...:tmi:

Luckily even with the several very post traditional clothing shops in town, they don't seem to make anything over a size 14 UK, so I have the perfect excuse: I'm too fat for a Dirndl (female counterpart to Lederhosen)!
*Google's Dirndl* - wow, my imagination of the Carbon/Emily outfit combination is going wild!!!

P P P-lease?
