The Labraventures of Carbón, Spanish (ex-) foster dog extraordinaire

Emily I am so sorry, after all your hard work and hours of studying the rules etc. I wonder if it is because you travel a lot and have 'no fixed abode' in Germany? I guess you could easily rectify that by buying a house which you could rent out when wanderlust got the better of you and that would help pay the mortgage.

I hope S.Carbon's magic appeal to the lawyer will work very well on your case. However, the news must have been a shock and a bitter blow :'(

Technically I do have a fixed abode in Germany and I am quite careful to stay within the legal limits of permitted travel outside of Germany, so that's not the issue. They refused renewal on the grounds of my medical status, a situation which has remained - legally-speaking- unchanged for the past five years.

My personal feeling is that because of the changing political climate there is now an unofficial quota on the number of visa extensions.

Thanks for the kind words from all. I do feel in a state of shock!

Got everything crossed for you, Emily!

And I really wish my clients would bring me a dog in to stroke - the only dogs we get in our office are my bosses Yorkshire terriers and they usually have outfits on and bows in their hair 🙈

There must be some European Law which says attempting to seclude you on those medical reasons is discrimination!
It's all a bit complicated, but just to clear up one misunderstanding, they are not excluding me because of any medical condition I have.

Though I do appreciate the sentiment behind you roaring to my defence. ;)

Now, Jen, fluffy dogs with bows are still dogs. You just have to pet around the outfits.

I really hope your lawyer finds a solution and it’s all sorted speedily. Everything crossed for you here, too. You could certainly do with some stress-free relaxation after all your travels.

Meanwhile, enjoy the whistle training with Carbon. x

When I was waiting for my PR to come through in Australia, I actually called to make sure my application was progressing. I was unofficially told that my application was fine but they'd reached their limit for the financial year so my PR wouldn't be granted until the following month (when the new fin year started). Sure enough, in the July my PR was granted.
