Geez, what a saga. Does sound a bit like the vet is guessing but at least she’s not dismissing it and is on the case, trying to work it out etc. Sometimes health mysteries can be tough to crack...

Yes good thinking, @Xena Dog Princess , could be giving off fungal/cheesy smell.
That has crossed my mind Sophie. There's a sort of white discharge on his bottom sometimes (yuck sorry) which I wondered if could possibly be thrush or the doggy equivalent. I mentioned it to the vet but they didn't seem concerned. Hopefully the Glandex wipes will help.

@Oberon Your quite right Rachael some health issues must be very difficult for vets to work out especially with dogs like mine that they can't do the usual stuff to. Vets do an amazing job really. Animals can't tell them where it hurts or how they feel it really is an educated guess a lot of the time and thankfully in the main vets get it right.
