We used to cut the finger off a large surgical glove and tape it to the base of the finger for short term coverage.
Otherwise good to keep it open to the air and as long as pain allows fresh water washing and patting dry.

You sound very stoical. Probably like @Candy And GJJ there is a bit of shock going on.
You need to take care of yourself.

Oh, that looks sooo painful. I can sympathise. Harv caught me the same way when he was much younger while we were playing with a chew toy. Resulted in a trip to A&E and an x-ray. Fortunately for me, something had deflected his bite and he just missed the bone. Hope your finger heals quickly.

Just like @Jacqui-S says, large or XL disposable gloves would be useful for hair and any mucky jobs around the place, an elastic band round the wrist means you can do it one handed.

Also on the shock front, it’s likely you’ll have a bit of a reaction so go easy on yourself and get rest where possible

Can you have a bit of a easy day work wise? Sounds like the shock caught up with you early this morning, even so, take care xxx

Perhaps J might kindly wash your hair for you?
As others have said, try to have a restful ish day if at all possible. :hug:from me and GGJ who is much more herself today sends gentle licks and says that in her experience Sardeens make dog bites better.

Like I said @snowbunny, try and dry it with warm air from your hair dryer.
Yes, I'll try that (or just let it air dry, might not be as painful) ... before, I didn't think I was allowed to get it wet, and with a chunky splint on it, it was really awkward. I already lost count of the number of times I jabbed it into something by mistake because I'm not used to my finger sticking out straight all the time!!
