Exactly - also if there’s lots of undergrowth (esp. bracken & long grass) that you’re leaping through or brushing against, this is prime tick territory. But wide paths and low scrubby verges, or sandy dunes, not so much if an issue.I think it depends where you are walking, Emily, and how common the ticks are there. My family's dogs don't wear them, or have spot-on because there aren't a huge number where they walk their dogs.
If you're walking in lots of woodland where there are deer, or near grazing sheep etc, it's probably not a bad idea.
