Updates on Mas.

He is picking up though, he’s not being sick anymore and he’s only having diarreah once a day now.

The vet gently (more gently than OH tbh) pointed out that he is on antisickness AND stool firmers which means we aren’t really sure if he’s improving or we are just medicating the symptoms.

It’s been 6 days - would gastroentrinius still be causing this many symptoms?

Eurgh, so sorry @Leanne , of course you don’t want him to go and you have him home now; as you say, it seems like they’re unclear on what’s going on at the moment and that’s really difficult to manage. Do you think if you get a quick referral to Solihull (and specialists there?) you’re more likely to get to the bottom of it quickly so Mas can be home again and improving? It’s so tough, I’m really sorry you’re going through this x

Oh poor you! This is just unbelievably stressful for you. Desperately sorry and really hope Solihull can help you tomorrow.

I would opt for Solihull immediately too. As Jacqui says, getting him well is priority so another (more expert?) opinion might help to speed his recovery.

I’m so sorry for you all - it’s a terrible dilemna.

Once again, just catching up. Can't believe the awful time you're going through. Nothing to add to what everyone else has said, but thinking of you, thinking of you, thinking of you. xxx

My biggest concern would be sleeping through the rectal exam.

I’d be tempted to take him to the hospital even for them to just look at him and see if they can figure out what’s going on.

As the vet said - he’s on a lot of medication so it could just be that that’s giving him the slight poo improvements.

I completely understand how you’re feeling, last year when Stanley was poorly and we didn’t (and still to this day don’t) know why, I was beside myself. He will get better though, I have no doubt x

I would take him to the hospital, may be they can find out what is going on for you and him

I too would be going to the specialist ASAP. If anything takes a turn, he’s with the best and they may be able to determine what’s going on more conclusively. Totally get what you are going through - it’s just the worst and they can’t tell us how they are feeling.

Have to agree with the others here Leanne. I do think the fact that stuff is passing through is a good sign but you are clearly and understandably still worried.I think that for you, you need to know you've done absolutely everything possible. That's how I would be.As I said in an earlier post, I hated it when Joy had to be transferred to yet another vet. I cried, cuddling her and trying not to cry, nearly all the way there, but they were the specialists, with the equipment that was needed and it was as a result of their expertise that she made a good recovery. From the photos you've posted Mas is a normally healthy dog with a strong will to get better and I believe he will. This is so horrible for you, but keep the faith, we're all here behind you. Sending thoughts, love, hugs, everything I can think of.:hug::hug:
