It wasn't too bad when we set off for our walk thismorning, then exactly half way through (ie when we were the furthest away from home that we could be on this particular walk) it turned into this20211204_113419.jpgWe headed back through driving rain that was getting suspiciously thick, both GGJ and myself with our heads down, going as fast as possible. She has now gone back to bed with her dressing gown on, sensible girl, and I am getting ready to batten down the hatches, light the stove and go nowhere else today, no matter what!

@Atemas, the most beautiful photograph of the sunrise, the clouds were like a painting, I would think F would get that photo accepted somewhere. Goodness me, snow!! It has been a lovely morning here, I am just off out to someone's else in the wilds, never been there before, there will be 9 dogs altogether, all large ones except for a little Pug. It looks as if the heavens are about to open :'(

Sounds like all of us on the Euro side of the world have about the same weather: yuck, yuck and more yuck! I was full of trepidation about driving Carbon to his vet appointment this morning and sure enough, it was snowing. Luckily no ice though - or I just missed the ice - and I didn't harm anyone with my lack of snow driving skills.

Only casualty was Carbon's fur as the vet had to shave bits off of all four legs before she found a good vein. Poor boy is a little embarrassed by his impromptu new hair style, I suspect. 😏

We had terrible freezing rain last night. This morning I put my ice grips on my mboots for the morning walk. We stepped outside, with Simba ahead of me, and he slipped right off the steps, poor guy! He was fine, but I decided there would be no walks for us today. I had to drive to work - good thing I’m only about three blocks away. I crept along at about 20kph on roads that were skating rinks. :veryconfused:

OK, that puts me in my place as I've been whinging about the weather here in Germany. We've had pretty much constant snow flurries and rain combo, but the ground hasn't frozen yet, so nothing sticking and no ice. I will now go through the day much more grateful for what we DON'T have! 😳
Still cold and miserable though, so you are allowed a little moan :)

This was our cul-de-sac after the ice melted, than froze again, and another thin layer of snow was added. That’s my van in front of my house. There is no way in/out of the cul-de-sac except across this expanse of ice when I’m going for a walk. The sidewalks are literally skating rinks. I strapped my ice grips on and went for a couple very slow and tentative walks yesterday. Sometimes I just walked on the road, as at least it is gravelled in some places. Yesterday the town put gravel down on the cul-de-sac, hooray! We went for a careful walk again this AM. People have put salt/grit down in lots of places but where they haven’t, it’s just awful. Simba’s feet were slipping out from under him even on a very slow and steady walk. For the most part he walked on the lawns were there is snow or we walked on the road. I’m heading out now to go on the trails. It should be better there as there’s no flat concrete underneath but I’m still taking my grips as where the snow is packed down from people walking it will be icy.
