I am sitting here, hands frozen and wrapped in many layers of clothes. I wonder at our life differences, we are all human, we love labradors and some of us are dying of heat, ones in the middle very cold and others in thick snow!
Sonia, you must keep warm! Can you hunker by the radiator with a good book for a bit?

Don't have a radiator, the system blows air out. I will finish my coffee and then rush around the house cleaning, that will get me warm! However, it is a nightmare not having any other means of heating, no gas etc.
Sorry if this is something you’ve already replied to, but could you try a portable electric radiator (not sure if that’s the correct term)? My landlords have lent me one in an effort to stretch the oil supply, and it works surprisingly well, a steady heat, which means I usually only use the central heating twice a day (after it’s been off 100% when I’m out for the day or first thing in the morning).

I sympathise with you on an electric hot air system - I’ve had wall units that work that way, mainly in Italy, and they don’t seem to actually get you warm unless you leave them on at full blast.

@Jelinga I second this, I bought an oil filled one last weekend and it really helped during our heating woes. I think it was £40, pretty quick to warm up and it has little castors on the bottom so you can move it easily if you want it in a different room. Might help take the e edge off.

I remember having storage heaters growing up, it’s no fun. Hope you can find ways to manage it and stay warm.

Thank you @Emily_Babbelhund, I bought one of those oil filled radiators a couple of weeks ago, but it cost £1 an hour to run, which on top of the night store electricity of £11 + a day at the moment, is just too much. Unfortunately, I have a smart meter (electric company kept muddling up night and day rate, so I thought with a meter I could check) on the down side it tells you how much everything costs! Otherwise I may have put that electric oil radiator on with gay abandon and have had a terrible shock when bill came in!

This is an amazing thing. Seven (depends on your machine) minutes in the microwave and it stays warm for 12 hours if kept insulated, eg under a duvet. It is solid so ‘snuggle’ is the wrong word. It’s made for puppies. :giggl:

I have one and I’m tempted to get another.
