Biscuit Tin Guardian
Thismorning when I woke up it was strangely quiet. There was no wind, no rain, no snow and no frost. Also no sun. Infact it sort of felt like there was no weather! Not to worry, the rain came back soon enough and now we have Storm Jocelyn with us, so it's wet and windy again, but as Paul The Weatherman said thisevening 'It's Yorkshire and it's winter, what do people expect at this time of year? This is normal!'

According to my almanac, to which I am a recent devotee, today is Candlemas and is described as a "weather divination day". The implications being as follows

If Candlemas be dry and fair,
The half of winter is still to come, and more,
If Candlemas be wet and foul
The half of winter is gone at Yule.

So there we have it :)

For the Northern Hemisphere anyway.
