Weather

Forecast here is showing thunder during the day so hopefully that is so with you - always think storms are better in the day than night - you can reassure her there is nothing to worry about
Fortunately no thunder after all. Good to mention that it would be better if it happened during the day, I can see that is less scary than being alone at night.

We've had no rain...yet. Well a sharp shower just no. It's forecast to be light rain all afternoon, good job we just got the grass cut. Heavy overnight. <sigh> I suppose I'll have to stick the washing that's just finished into the dryer.

We’ve had more rain now too, but thankfully it was sunny yesterday afternoon (after a downpour) for my youngest grandson’s birthday party in my garden. Tuppy has been a bit unsettled, although I haven’t hear any thunder, but she loved ’hoovering’ the grass for crisps, strawberries, cucumber, etc after the party!

In my almost 60 years of living in Sydney (minus the two years I lived in NZ) I can't remember a winter this cold. Everyone is saying it and even though we have gorgeous winter sun nearly every day, the cold air just penetrates everything. I dread our next electricity bill as I have the heater on a lot during the day working and the air-con is on in the lounge from about 4pm

After four lovely days of sun and 19-21 degrees, we've had two horrible days. 50mm of rain, storms and gale force winds. Sheets of metal flew across our back yard and I had to tie our trampoline to a tree and wall to that it didn't fly away.

I haven't been able to safely walk Ella in two days and she's letting me know that she's totally unimpressed. No need to call the RSPCA, the weather will be better tomorrow and she'll be saved from her neglect.

We've been copping an East Coast low for 5 days with relentless rain and wind and it is SO cold. We had to go out to Western Sydney on Saturday for a family lunch; it's a 2 hour return journey and there were times we had to slow to a crawl as you couldn't see 1 foot in front of the windscreen.

It is wrapping up today thankfully and tomorrow it is forecast to be sunny and 22 degrees! Much better than the maximum of 13 we had on Saturday

@Jacqui-S, I feel guilty saying I wish it would rain here (just had one minute) as it hasn't rained for weeks except once overnight and once an hour in the afternoon when I got soaked to the skin. I have been thinking of you when I saw the lunchtime weather forecast, it looked dire, hope it isn't as bad as expected. Cancelling the Edinburgh Tattoo will be a great disappointment for all.
