I sometimes wonder if, since poor Michael Fish made that statement about us not having a hurricane, back in 1987 (which he never lived down, because we did!) weather reports tend to err on the side of caution and warn of big storms just incase they happen. After all, I don't think anyone would be likely to complain of a storm that didn't happen!
